Swass Posted September 5, 2017 Report Posted September 5, 2017 Hi, Not sure who would be able to help me, but my H1 got picked this year and got RFE (specialty occupation), but I am planning to get married (US Citizen) this month. Not sure if I need to take any steps to make sure my status allows me to work? and if so, can any one suggest me what all steps I need to follow? Will be great if someone can help me. Please.
pontevecchio Posted September 5, 2017 Report Posted September 5, 2017 once you get married to an USC, you will be able to file the AOS/AP/EAD in one go. Once you get the receipt you will be awaiting AOS. Once you get the EAD you will be able to work. It is possible you get the GC before the EAD/AP. Once married you are safe.
