i-94 Extension after passport renewal

Hi -

I am an H1B worker with valid petition till July 2019. At the time of entry, I was given i-94 till the last date of my passport expiration i.e 25-Nov-17.  I recently got my new passport.  How do I extend my i-94 date which is still showing my old passport #. 

Do I need to take a trip outside the country just for i-94 extension ? Can it not be extended from inside ? Pls. advise.

You can have your employer file for an extension.

you can leave and return with a new I94.

You can go to the Tijuana Border and return with a new I94.

Is there any reason why you have not informed your employer about the situation?

If you are staying in California, you can get the I94 extended in Tijuana border. It will take you 1-2 hrs.
