txwarrior12 Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 I got my GC in Eb2 after waiting for 7 years and now i have a very good offer from a full time client with excellent [package carrer growth . its been 60 days since i got my GC. how soon can i quit my GC Sponsoring employer without being denied Citizenship down the line ?
pontevecchio Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 The general guidance has been to stay for 6 months. That is not written in stone. Why not discuss your facts with the firm of Murthy or any of your choice.? specially since it is a nice offer.
jackhardy Posted September 6, 2017 Report Posted September 6, 2017 congrats! you are a free man or woman once you have a GC. you don't have to worry about switching jobs or companies as long as you have a valid reason.

The last two words being the important part: a "valid reason." Getting a way better job offer is of course a valid reason, but there are lots of things that are not valid reasons. It would have been nice if you had explained the rubber phrase "valid reason" more... As pontevecchio said, discussing the OP's particular situation with a good lawyer is the right thing to do. Certainly better than throwing some meaningless phrase like "valid reason" around...
