Processing time for I-131 (new application for parents GC)

Hi, 

I'm contemplating applying for I-485 (AOS) vs applying for GC from India, as I hear that the processing times have become slow in the US. I plan to apply for my parents's GC end of September and they would like to leave back to India by Januray with an AP, but concern is AP is taking much longer to get approved. People who have applied for I-485+I-131 in the recent past this year, can you please comment on processing times for fingerprinting/biometrics and AP? Appreciate your help!

Your first sentence is extremely contradictory. I would suggest using the Consular route as it is much faster than AOS.
