Travel while H4 EAD is in progress ?

Hey all, 

 

Can my wife travel to India(for emergency) while her H4-EAD is in process ? EAD was applied on May 20'2017 .

Currently she has valid I-797 approved until Oct 2018 , but need to go for stamping .

1. Will it result in RFE for EAD ? or it can get approved to ?

2. If we get RFE then how much time do we get to respond back ?

Note : I am on H1B with approved I797 and I140

 Any help/experience will truly help me.
