aclb
Both my parents got their GCs several months ago. They are both retired and my mom has traveled out of the country twice to visit relatives and stayed a couple months each time. Both times she re-entered, she faced lots of questions from the immigration officers, with this last one threatening to take away her greencard and telling her he didn't want to hear arguments when she explained when she left and why she had been abroad. He told her he would take her greencard next time she leaves and tries to come back. Is there anything we can do or document we can file to prevent this from occurring? She is traveling to the UK for 2 1/2 weeks for a school reunion soon and I don't want this to happen again. Link to comment
pontevecchio
We need exact date of first entry as a GC holder and specific amounts of time she stayed out. Link to comment
JoeF
A Permanent Resident has to live in the US. It is called Permanent Residency for a reason. Any trip abroad has to be temporary in nature, with a clear ending date.
