I have filed H1B for the year 2016 and received i797 on 4th April'2017. The expiry date on i797 is 1st Sept'2017. I went for stamping in June 2017 and I got the H1B visa stamping till 2019.

1. Do I have to go for extenstion?

2. Is it typo?, if so how can I contact USCIS?

3. What action should I take in this case?

Thanks,

1. You need to apply for extension.

2. Contact your attorney.

3. Just apply for extension.

Your H1b visa is valid till 1st September 2017 and this is the date upto which you have work permit valid . Your stamping is till 2019 so this is the permit for entry into the country with valid visa.

1. Yes you need to apply for extension

2. Stamping is just an entry pass with valid visa so no action needed

3. You should apply for extension before 1st September 2017
