H4 to H1 to h4 ? out of status

I was here on H4 with valid till end of 2017. In 2016 I got my h1b approval in May but before I can start my job . my employer has filed withdrawal of my h1 in september just before h1b was effective (i.e 1 oct). H1b withdrawal was approved in 10 January. My question is about my current status? I am out of status or on h4. 

If I get job can I use my h1b in future ? Thanks in advance for your help.

Better to step out of country and come back on H-4. No, because that H-1 is gone before it started. You have to go through lottery again.
