H1-B stamping

Hello,

My wife was planning to get her H1-B visa stamped in June-July 2017 after getting it renewed via premium processing as her existing visa is expiring in December 2017. Now that the premium processing is being cancelled & as she cannot apply for extension before 6 months prior to expiration she would have to apply in regular processing which could take till the end of the year. Is travelling now , March - April 2017 and getting it stamped something we should pursue? Below are the details of her situation:

1.  Came for M.S in 2007 and got H1-B in 2011.

2. Has not been to India since. This would her first trip back after coming in 2007.

3. Has to get her H1-B amendment  as client has changed.

4. Present H1-B expires in December 2017.

Is it worth exploring the H4 to H4-EAD visa to make things easier and go to India in the next few months?

Would appreciate any advise/inputs. thank you

H-4 to H-4 EAD is a better option.
