Anyone applied to DOS recently, they are saying that the DOS rejecting more cases recently, is that true.

We applied on 4/25/17, got RFE on 8/9/17, RFE received on 9/14/17, now again uscis is silent. It's frustrating process.

No I didn't get RFE.

Today on Oct 1, 2017 I received a letter of approval from USCIS.

This letter was posted on 9-27-2017.

It means after receiving favorable recommendation from DOS, USCIS took 5 days to print the approval notice of J1 waiver.

I wish all the applicants, the very best for their applications.

Received a update on my case , uscis says case on hold! Still stressed out, don't have much time. People say real block is DOS please wish me luck !

See below my J1 waiver based on hardship application timeline. The length was almost exactly a year.

Background of our case:

2009 :J-1 visa obtained with US funds for a 2 month program

2010: Came to the US for grad school with a F-1 visa

2014 - 2017: Used OPT and OPT STEM extension to work

2016: South American and American Citizen marry

Late 2016: With the help of a team of experienced lawyers in J1 waivers we applied to the hardship waiver based on: medical and psychological hardship, career disruption, economic disruption, and severe political and social conditions in the home country

Couple has no kids

I know how hard and painful this process is. But believe it or not one day it will be over! I can't believe I no longer have to check the j1waiver website everyday. I promise myself that once our case was finalized and I would share our case with other J1 waiver fellows.

I have applied J1 waiver based on hardship. USCIS received my I-612 on may 18, 2017. Since then no update. However on J1 status check site it shows recommendation was sent in Oct 5th. I don't know what to make out of it as it doesn't show what recommendations was sent. Anyone in the same situation?

How will I know if DoS have received my documents? I saw that my case in USCIS is already on hold, as per message I got " On October 24, 2019, we requested another non-USCIS advisory opinion for your Form I-612, Application for Waiver of the Foreign Residence Requirement (under Section 212(e) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as Amended).

Please let me know how I can check if they got it or not. Thanks.

Can you show me from the USCIS website screenshot what does it actually say because mine is the same just "Case is on hold".

Hello everyone!

   Can someone please explain this to me my hardship waiver has been pending since 2020 December I filed with USCIS November 4th 2019 and July 22, 2020 USCIS requested another non uscis advisory opinion and says “my case is on hold” state has received all documentation I think. 
DOS has posted online i612 and i613 received July 6, 2023 “department of State advisory opinion finding closed due to inactivity” what does it mean? I don’t know why it’s taking so long I didn’t any receive any letter from either DOS and USCIS(case on hold) 

please guide me about my situation
