hkgirish Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 My parents have visitor visa which will expire in mid april 2017. The visa was issued in 2007 and my parents only visited once in the last ten years i.e. in 2007. My question is if my parents enter USA at the end of march or first week of april 2017 before their current visa expiration date (mid april 2017), what is the possible I 94 duration they may get. Is the I 94 usually given for 6 months or will it be restricted to the visa expiration date? I understand that it all depends on the immigration officer, but would like to know what is normal I 94 duration given.
shekar11# Posted January 11, 2017 Report Posted January 11, 2017 The I-94 will usually be for 6 months if the visa is valid at the time of entry. Again depends on the officer. Better for them to enter in March 2017 instead of waiting till last minute. Since they visited only once chances are very high they might get up to 6 months of stay.
