F2 to F1 COS Stamping Required from India?

Hello Everyone, 

I came to the US with an F2 visa in 2015. I changed my status to F1 in October 2015. I am currently pursuing my MBA from a reputable University and I am fully funded by the University. I would complete my coursework in Summer 2017. I have not got my visa stamped from India yet as I did not leave the US. My husband is currently in his OPT. 

I want to understand if 

1. If I need to get my visa stamped from India in order to get my OPT approval. 

2. Would it be a an issue if I go to India for visa stamping?

Please advise!

1. Not necessary. But check with your school DSO to make sure.

2. No issue as you said it is a good university.

The visa is an entry document. It is not needed while in the US. In the US, you have a status as listed on the I-94. That's what matters while you are here.
