VISA STAMP VALIDITY IS LESS THAN APPROVED I797 VALID DATE

Hi,

I recently got my H1B visa stamped in my home country. The visa expiry date is 30 June, 2017 but my approved I-797 has validity up to 31 August,2019. And my passport is expiring in 9 February, 2019.

I am unable to understand why different dates and how can i get this corrected.

That should be fine. Don't worry. It happens sometime. Apply your extension well ahead of your I-94 expiry date.

It is definitely an error. you need to get that resolved before you travel back else your new i94 will be given only till the visa date.
