I-94 expired, 140 is in process, amendment filed oneday before 180 days cutoff

Hi,

I got my Initial H1B from my employer for Inhouse project till 8/27/17(I94), when I got a new job at a client my employer filed for amendment and got it approved till 7/7/2016. My employer forgot to file extension for the amendment and they found that only on 12/30/16(Meanwhile I am still working with the client all these days). on 12/30 our attorney opened case for amendment(Receipt not received yet). And they asked me, my wife and kid to leave the country immediately as by 1/3/2017 I will reach 180 days after the amendment expiry(7/7/16). I have my labor approved and my 140 is in process.

 

So I request you to please let me know what are my options now. Any help is greatly appreciated. Is there chances that the new amendment will be approved? And will I face any problems in India during stamping if my amendment is approved? Does this effect my 140 process. Is there a way to backdate I-94 dates.
