H1-B Transfer

Hi, 

I am currently working with employer 'A', for which my I-94 is getting expired on 12/31. Employer A already filed for my extension under regular processing which is still pending with USCIS.

I got selected in another firm, employer 'B', and they filed my H1-B transfer under premium with USCIS. On Dec 14th, 2016 USCIS requested for some additional evidence. When I contacted employer 'B' they informed that they will reply to RFE  by Jan 2017.

My question is, can I join employer 'B' on the basis of my receipt number, even with RFE or I need to wait for an approval as my current I-94 is getting expired on 12/31.
