Administrative Processing weird info on status site. OTTAWA.

I did attend my Visa interview on 8th Dec 2016 got 221G White. I was just checking the case status and noticed something there.

It shows as my below

Application ID or Case Number: XXXXXX

Case Creation Date:     05-Dec-2016

Status Updated Date:  08-Dec-2016

 

Any clue why was my case created even before I attended the interview?

Did you go for finger printing on Dec 5th? If yes then that would be the case creation date.

No. Got my finger printing done on 8th itself.

Sriveer, my situation is pretty similar to yours. I went to the Chennai consulate and had my interview on 9th Dec; my fingerprinting was on 5th Dec (original 6th Dec interview was cancelled due to the Jayalalitha incident). 

My online CEAC tracking thing says:

Case Creation Date: 8th Dec 2016

Status Updated Date: 9th Dec 2016

I created a thread on this forum as well. I brought this up with my attorney and she just said it might have been a clerical error, which doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. If it's mostly automated, not a lot of room for clerical errors/typos. Either way, there's not a lot we can do or people to ask. 

My 221G was to see my employer's financial docs (cash flow statements etc). I'm a full-time employee with the company (a huge brand name) and did my Master's in the US from Purdue. The attorney sent the docs on 12th Dec and we received an automated acknowledgement email... I'll give them 2 weeks from 12th Dec + 1 day for their Christmas holiday before I try to contact them (their official calendar only shows 26th Dec as a holiday but they might be working with reduced staff or something).

what is the current status on your case !   do u see any one at Ottawa facing similar issue ?

In my case they did not even reach me for any information. I did attend Ottawa Canada Consulate. I have attended the same consulate back in 2012 with the same employer and same client. They did give me 221G White then. Last time at least they contacted client after a week. Its been 11 working days so far. No contact yet. Have been with the same client since 2011. Not sure what they want to verify.
