Possible Problems with Public Intoxication

Hello, 

Someone very important to me with F-1 visa was arrested with public intoxication in January 2016. He is coming back to the US later this month after he got a new visa which took longer because of the indecent. We have two questions and hope to hear what you think. 

1- When my friend arrives in the US, is he likely going to have more questioning and checking at the airport because of it? 

2- He thinks he has good reasons to get the case dismissed. He pleaded guilty because he was leaving the US soon after the incident. Is it possible to reopen the case if he get a lawyer?

Why did he not have a lawyer from the start?

The case is over.

He thought that if the case does not get dismissed while he is not in the US, he might have issues with getting the visa renewed.  

We have two more questions and we hope to get answers for them. 

1- If he wants to apply for opt/cpt or even green card in the future, will this indecent cause issues or prevent him from doing so? 

2- When my friend arrives in the US later this month, is he likely going to have more questioning and checking at the airport because of it?

First, do not even think about CPT. Pretty much only fraud "universities" offer that. Abuse of CPT kills the future in the US.

Second, if he got convicted, he always has to list that on future applications.

What about green card? Is public intoxication going to cause issues or get it rejected?

Since your friend was arrested it can be an issue. He'd probably need to consult with a lawyer to discuss exact details though. Check this link:
