ArsenalAni Posted December 14, 2016 Report Posted December 14, 2016 Hi everyone, Thanks for everyone's help. This forum has been really helpful .I felt i should share my experience so that it help you prepare better. Here it goes.. Stood in the counter after all the standard proceedings. The officer was an american(he was smiling!). He asked few questions to the guy ahead of me . The interview went on for 1 min and finally the guy got his visa (H1-B i think) approved. Then it was my turn.. Me: How are you doing sir? VO: He didn't reply for 10 seconds as he was typing something. Finally said he was doing good. VO: How are you? Me: I am doing great sir. VO: What is your designation? Me: I am a XXX. VO: What is your salary? Me: Told. VO: Where did you do your masters? Me: University of Texas at austin VO: Do you like tacos?(surprised.he might have asked this because i was in texas) Me: Yes i do like them Sir! VO: What is your favourite taco? Me: I said Knockout tacos.(This time he was laughing) VO: Then he said the golden words your visa is approved! The whole interview was very short and probably lasted around 20 seconds or less. Just be prepared with all the documents guys even though they might not be needed. I know some people who had to really slug it out. I also didn't see any 221g's. My advice would be dress professional and prepare well and you should be fine! Thanks, Ani
vabhinav9 Posted December 19, 2016 Report Posted December 19, 2016 Hi Ani, Did you receive your passport?
boilerdam Posted December 19, 2016 Report Posted December 19, 2016 Tacos...? Damn tacos..? I recently ended up with a 221G at the Chennai consulate for my direct employment at a massive, famous company. 2nd stamping. Argghhh! I heard other consular officers on my interview day talking about sarees and stuff with other candidates while approving their work permits (I won't bring gender/flirting into this) with short interview like yours. Darn, unfair is a massive understatement when it comes to this very subjective & haphazard process. Anyway, I'm just venting out :) Congrats on your approval. Don't mean to undermine your happy success.
