shash Posted December 3, 2016 Report Posted December 3, 2016 Hi Experts, I am on H4 visa. My mother name is missing with one letter "h" in my passport. Her First name is spelled as "Sharada " in her voter ID and all her documents she holds. But in my passport her First name is spelled as "Sarada" as it was mentioned same in my educational certificate and same name was carried to my passport aswell. However her last name is same in both her documents and my passport. Only difference is one letter "h"missing in my passport. she will be attending visitor visa interview to stay with us in US for 6 months. Please suggest if there will be any issue for her visa approval because of missing one letter which appears in my passport. Also do i have to get any documents which supports for her visa approval. Thanks, Shash
pontevecchio Posted December 4, 2016 Report Posted December 4, 2016 This is not an issue. She should plan to visit you for 2 months and usually the stay granted is for 6 months.
shash Posted December 5, 2016 Author Report Posted December 5, 2016 Thanks for the reply. 1.So there is no need to prepare affidavit stating both names " Sarada" and Sharada" in one and same for my mother. 2. Also I would want her to stay for 6 months with me in US. waiting for your response.
pontevecchio Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 The missing h is absolutely irrelevant. As I stated she should specify if asked that she wants to visit for 2 months and her entry will ordinarily be granted for 6 months.
