H1B to H4/EAD change of Status

Hi...

My wife have a valid H1B until 12/31/2016. we applied for H4 / EAD as change of status in Oct, 2016 and it got approved on Nov 10th 2016 (both H4 and EAD)

H4 and EAD validity start from Jan 1st 2017 (h4 i94 start date), does this mean she will still be on H1B status until expiry date of 12/31/2016 and she can work on till that date.

Yes. she can continue working because H-4 does not start until 1/1/2017.
