ram2015 Posted November 13, 2016 Report Posted November 13, 2016 Dear team, Could you please help me with the below query on about H1 to H4 EAD conversion. I am working in US for an Indian IT service provider. I am currently on H1B Visa and my I 140 has been approved year back. My current H1B is valid upto Aug 2017 and after that my organization will file for an extension for me. My wife works for a different organization and will be maxing out her H1B by April 2017. I want to convert her visa to H4 EAD based on my H1 so that she can continue to work after her H1 max out. Now my organization says that it can only file H4 for my wife and would not file EAD. If I go ahead with my organization, my wife will not be able to work between the period she gets her H4 and I independently process her EAD. With the current situation, could you please suggest on what options I have so that my wife can continue to work without a break while her status gets changed from H1 to H4 EAD. I will be thankful for any advice you can offer in this regard.
