1037.rakesh Posted November 11, 2016 Report Posted November 11, 2016 Hi All, I have searched the forums, could not find any relevant replies for me. I was with company A in February of this year went India and my got visa stamped ,while returning back to US since my passport is going to expire in march of next year, PEO only gave my i-94 up to march. Recently I have changed my employer got new I-797 for 3 year. My question is when I renew my passport do i to go out of country and come back.
james007lemo Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 When you received your new I-797, did you receive an updated I94? Also for renewing your passport, you can get it done here in US. But if you are traveling out of US, then you need to get the visa stamped on your passport if your current visa stamping is expired. Hope this helps!
Reddi Posted November 13, 2016 Report Posted November 13, 2016 Hello, It's not required to go out of country. Please make sure you have to carry all those passports including old passport also. nothing else. you can renew your passport anywhere.

JoeF Posted November 15, 2016 Report Posted November 15, 2016 The I-94 at the bottom of the H1 approval notice has status and expiration date. It is always the last I-94 that matters.
