H1B remaining time calculation

Hello.

My H1B started in October 2015, suppose end in October 2021 (6 years limit) 

I left my employer and US in October 2016. (1 year used, 5 years remaining) 

Suppose 2 years later if I came back work for a new employer in October 2018. 

Would my cap-exempt H1B application can be valid up to: 

A. October 2021 (original limit), or 

B. October 2023 (2018+5 years remaining)

You will have a total of 6 years and can exclude all the time out of USA.
