From L1 to F1

Hi,

I am wondering about the following - I am now working in NYC on L1 and planning to do my MBA and transfer to F1. 

I would like to leave my employer as late as possible and avoid the risks as much as possible. 

Can I apply for COS and continue working for my employer until I go to school? I think I should be able to indicate the date when I want to start my F1. My L1 is still valid for more than a year.

The COS to F1 if approved will be approved not more than 30 days before the F1 classes start and you remain in L1 status till then.
