srini9997@yahoo.com Posted November 4, 2016 Report Posted November 4, 2016 Interview date: Oct 17th 2016 Location: Hyderabad consulate 221g case reason: DUI in 2014 My DUI case is dismissed and I had paid fine and I also received a new driver's license, I have all the related documents. History: Visa officer handed over 221g letter to me and asked to follow instructions in the letter. I have emailed Dr. Raj Kumar Songa to schedule an appointment and it was scheduled on Oct 20th and completed all the necessary medical tests and consultation with the panel doctor Raj Kumar Songa by Oct 21st. I received a call from Dr Raj's office that my medical reports were submitted to US embassy on Oct 25th. I got an email update on Nov 3rd saying "please submit your passport, as your application is refused under section 221g ". I have shared the matter below. But in CEAC website my application status still shows as "admin processing". Please let me know what are my options here? For me it still unbelievable that application is actually refused. If it is refused how to approach the embassy that, on what grounds my application is refused. This is in reference to your visa application. Please submit your passport at the VAC or VFS office at the earliest for further processing of your case. As your application has been refused under section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) and you are requested to submit your passport,
pagladeewana Posted November 4, 2016 Report Posted November 4, 2016 Dont worry. It means your initial application was "refused " pending doctor test. Now that they have received reports they can continue the process. You should get visa in another 7-10 days after you submit your passport.

Now they are asking your passport that mean , your visa is approved. Send the passport and wait for reply peacefully.

srini9997@yahoo.com Posted November 12, 2016 Author Report Posted November 12, 2016 Picked up my passport with Visa stamp, thanks everyone!
socal2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Report Posted November 22, 2016 Hi srini9997@yahoo.com, Thanks for sharing your inputs and steps you followed on the forum, they are very helpful. Congrats on the visa! I'm currently in the same boat as you, I had a DUI back in 2014 and completed all the court procedures that year. For my H1 renewal, I attended visa interview today (Nov 22) and tried to get appointment from Dr. Raj Kumar. But seems we have to wait till he responds back with appointment date. I wanted to know - 1. Is there any way to get his appointment quickly? 2. How much is the fees paid? 3. Is it possible to get the report from the doctor myself and submit it with my Passport at VFS dropbox location? 4. While you submitted the passport, did you submit it with the 221g courier doc downloaded from the ustraveldocs site? Any other docs to be submitted then? thanks!
