H4 Receipt Not received, Status in Dilemma

Hi,

My company filed for my H1B Extension (Approved) but forgot to do so for my wife H4 Extension.

on 22 Sept-2016,  the company immi team sent (overnight) her I-539 for H4 Extension. Her I-94 was expiring next day 24-Sept.

Today is 24 Oct and so far we have not received her Receipt Number. I am not sure whats her status and if her document was accepted.

can someone tell me what should I do? with out Receipt Number I cant track her case.

1] With Expired I-94 and already sent Document for extension, whats her status?

2] Can she stay in USA?

Any help is appreciated as I am very nervous.

She can stay as long as you receive a reply from USCIS.
