Gap between switching jobs on H1 visa

Hi,

I have a valid H1 visa with Company A. I have just got my H1 transfer petition approved from Company B. I will start my notice period soon. 

I have a concern that if Company A decides my last day as Friday and first day at Company B is on Monday. 

Is this gap of two days of being unemployed at either company OK? Or I must be employed at any company at all the time?


Also another question is, I have my recent H1 stamped on passport with Company A with expiry date of September 2018. But now I am changing company and if I travel to India in December, do I need to get new stamping done with the petition of new company before I enter US again? Or my existing stamp with Company A would work while entering back?

Subject to the new company agreeing you could have up to 60 days to join. A few days will be no problem. You can use the existing visa for travel.

2nd point, you can travel  using existing visa until you have valid visa stamping with any company.
