Completed interview today at Fairfax office (The office is next to a large parking lot and parking should be easy)
The experience was very pleasant
My interview time was 10 AM but I reached the place by 7.30 AM
They let me go through security check (airports style) and asked me to get seated
I was called in around 9:00 AM by a very courteous lady
This is what happened next:
Officer: I will do your reading test first
Me: Sure
Read the third sentence in the box (she gave me a typed sheet with 3 boxes)
me: I read aloud " Why do people come to the US"
officer: Great you passed the reading test
officer: Now write the following in box 3 (she gave me a different sheet) and said "People come to the US to be free"
me: I wrote it
officer: Great you passed the writing test too
Now lets do the civics test
1) Name one war fought by the United States in the 1900s
Answer: World War 1
2) Who is the Chief Justice of the United States now?
Answer: John G Roberts
3) The House of Representatives has how many voting members?
Answer: 435
4) We elect a U.S. Representative for how many years?
Answer: 2 years
5) Who is the “Father of Our Country”?
Answer: George Washington
6) In what month do we vote for President?*
Answer: November

Officer: Congratulations you passed the test
Now let us go over your application
She asked things that I already wrote in the application
She asked me about any other passports I had (I mentioned I had one prior to the current one but did not bring that , she said it is ok and looked it up from her system)
She asked me about tickets: I said none in last 5 years
She then asked if any before that : I said may be 2 in the previous 8 years (before the immediate 5 years)
She said that is ok

She asked me all the Yes No questions at the end of the applications (like were you arrested etc.,)
Then she asked me to sign on an ipad kind of device that my information appears correctly  (basic name, dob etc)

I signed
She gave me a letter stating I passed the test and told me someone will schedule an oath soon

That is it
