Am I eligible for 'Dropbox' facility

Hello,

I came to USA two years ago on H4 visa status. (My H4 visa was issued in India and stamped in India). Last year I got admission in a University and I applied for change of status from H4 to F1. My F1 visa was approved and I have the F1 approval letter. I have to travel to India this year so I will have to get my F1 visa stamped. My question is if I am eligible for 'Dropbox facility' or 'Interview waiver program'?

You are not eligible. You had a H-4 stamping and now you are going for F-1. Two different classes. So you need to attend the interview.

Following information Is from official website, and you are not in the same class. Did you ever have an F1 before that meets the second criteria?

• If I am applying for an H or L (individual) or R visa, my prior visa in the same class is still valid or expired within the last 12 months.

OR

• If I am applying for any other class of visa, my prior visa in the same class is still valid or expired within the last 48 months.
