4 Months left of petition and going for Visa Stamping

Hi,

My visa stamping in my passport expired and 03/31/2014 and my visa was extended with a new expiry date of 03/31/2017. My employer is planning to extend my H1 in January as per policy they start the extension process 3 months prior to expiration date. I am a FTE and have been with the same employer for 8 1/2 year and had Visa stamped twice before for the same employer.

I haven't traveled to India since Dec 2013 and planning to go to India in November 2016 (next month). I have to attend Visa interview and would it be a risk considering I only have four months left on my petition?

The risk is getting a 3 month visa.
