Bala@134 Posted October 8, 2016 Report Posted October 8, 2016 Hi everyone, need urgent help and guidance. my existing visa stamping has expired on Sept 2015. I have already booked my appointment on Oct 19&20 to go to Matamoros and also booked my flight tickets from Ohio to Texas. - since my visa stamping is already expired, I am not really sure if I can get into mexico with a 7 days permit. I don't have a mexico visitors visa.. With just close to one week time, I am very much worried.. Please help and advice.. I am in Ohio, Columbus and there is no mexico embassy nearby to get visitors visa? Please advice. Can you also tel me how to book an appointment and find the nearest mexico embassy to get mexico tourist visa? How long it would take for me to get the visa? - Is it possible to cancel a booked matamoros appointment and get the money refunded? Any kind of help on this situation would be appreciated.

You can get a border permit which valid for 7 days. However, you should always plan for backup options in case things go wrong in Matamoros. I was to Matamoros last week and I know of a person who just had border permit(valid for 7 days) was asked to go to Mexico city to consult a physician because of DUI. He ended up taking rental car and hiring a driver just for this purpose. It costed him north of 1000 USD. You can always reschedule the appointment and I am not sure about refund though.
dsds Posted October 11, 2016 Report Posted October 11, 2016 Its easy and two hour process to get mexico visitor visa. I'm in the same city as you are. Chose mexico consulate at detroit, MI and email them for appointment on a specific day. You could chose Indiana also but they issue visa only on Tuesday and Thursday of the week. I would update my contact details in the profile, please see in some time to contact me.
Bala@134 Posted October 11, 2016 Author Report Posted October 11, 2016 Thanks so much for the Input guys! Appreciate it. @dsds I have sent you an email requesting for contact details! Thanks.
sk8899 Posted October 14, 2016 Report Posted October 14, 2016 I am having a similar situation. I couldn't get a Mexico visa due to an issue with Doc. When I asked Mexican Consular, I was told it is not possible to enter Mexico on a permit without a Valid US or Mexico Visa. But, I know people who have been there without the two. Can someone please confirm if we can enter into Mexico with an Expired US Visa and a current I-797 document? I have my appointment on Oct 19th and 20th as well in Matamoros.
