Do I need I140 copy? How long does it take for I140 hard copy to reach lawyer. It has been more than 2 weeks and the lawyer has not sent it yet. Link to comment

Attorney_15 Posted September 23, 2016 Report Share Posted September 23, 2016 It's usually a good idea to have a copy of the I-140 approval notice if you as the Beneficiary are changing jobs. Generally, under the law, an I-140 Beneficiary who does not have a filed I-485 application pending based on an I-140 for at least 180 days will need to re-start the Green Card process if she moves to a new employer. AC21 Green Card Portability does not allow a person to file an I-485 based on an I-140 unless the company taht field the I-140 still has a future job for that person. Link to comment
