240 days to i94 expiration coming soon - H1B decision pending

Hi,

 

My i94 expiration date was Oct 6, 2015 and H1B extension was filed to USCIS on Sep 6, 2016

 

240 days from i94 expiration date is June 2, 2016

 

Current Status :

Application was upgraded to premium on May 2, 2016 and got RFE on May 6, 2016. My employer has sent the response of RFE to USCIS  today (May 25, 2016)

 

Question:

a) If decision is not taken by USCIS by June 2 2016, Can I stay in US and stop working for the employer or I must leave US by June 2 in this case.

 

b) If I get approval, shall I wait for i797 to reach to employer or the approval status on USCIS website is good  enough to stay / resume work.
