akashintouch
Hello All, This forum is awesome and thanks a lot for all the people who are actively responding to questions. I'm planning to startup a small company and have following questions. Can H1b holder become owner of an LLC company? Can he work for that company? Can he apply GC through ownership or he should be an employee only? Thanks, Akash Link to comment

JoeF
On H1, you can be a passive investor into a company only. You can not work there, you can not have access to the bank account, you can not not have access to the office. Consider it like investing in the stock market. If you buy stock of, say, Microsoft, you become a co-owner. That doesn't mean that you work there or have access to their bank accounts or their offices.
