Staying while the B2 visa extension case is pending

I have my in-laws staying with us  for 5 months and the current 1-94 expires on June 20th and we applied for an extension for 3 more months until Sep 13th.

We have received the receipt number from USCIS,so for how long they can stay while the case is still pending based on the receipt number.I do know if the case is denined they have to leave right away.Please suggest.

They can stay as long as decision is pending.
