Years left on H1-B

Hi,

 

I first came into the US in 2005 on a H1-B and went back to India after a year (2006). I came back on the same H1-B in Aug 2013 till date. So, should I assume that I would have 2 years left on my H1-B in Aug 2016 or would I have 3 years left in Aug 2016?

Since you came back with the same H1, the clock did not reset. So you have to count all the time in H1 status.

6 years minus all existing time in H1 status.
