does b2 ds-160 give 10 yr multiple entry option

Recommended Posts

Hello ,

I filled ds-160 for both of my parents and it didn't give any option of visa duration or multiple entry.

How do I request consulate for 10 year B2 visa with multiple entry.

thanks

You don't request that.

The officer determines if the person is likely to return to his or her home country, and issues the visa accordingly.

You don't request it, consulate will decide the duration of visa.

Is there any minimum duration they will consider ?

because suppose if I apply visa now and don't call my parents for 2 years this visa might get wated if it's less than 2 years.

I never saw a case were they issued B2 for just 2 yrs. Most of the time they issue it for 10yrs with multiple entries.

They should normally get a 10 year visa. The duration is based partly on VO discretion and mainly based on the fact that India allows US Citizens 10 year multiple entry visas. Aussies are only eligible for 6 month single entry visas to India as Australia will only give 6 month SE visas to Indians.

Thanks everybody for inputs.

One last question: there is a section National identification number , should I leave it blank or specify voter id number ?
