Intended Date of Arrival Question

Hello,

 

I am applying a visitors visa (B2) for my brother and his wife, but we don't know the exact travel date yet, it could be this year (June 2016) of next year (June 2017). Here are my questions:

 

1. Is it possible to apply for a visa now by giving a tentative date of 3 months later, e.g. June 2016?

 

2. Lets say they get a 10 yr visa approved for June 2016 travel but they don't travel this year and will travel next year in June 2017 then does this cause any issues at port of entry? 

 

3. Generally how many years of visitors visa gets approved?

Once approved they can travel any time within visa validity. They can give a tentative date. They may get up to 10 years multiple entry or based on the VO they may get a shorter period.
