pay on temporary contract

I currently work for a university and moving to take job at another university. Contract at current university ends on May 18 and that at the new university starts only on July 1st. However, to cover the gap from May 19 through June 30, the new school will request my H1b with them starts on May 19th and they will also put me on a temporary contract till June 30th. 

 

Should the pay for this temporary contract be above what is promised in their DOL application while petitioning for my H1b? Or, it doesn't really matter? Please advise.

It is the same H1, so the same rules apply. You always have to get paid at least the salary listed on the LCA.
