jairichi
1. Yes. 2. You need passport with minimum 6 months validity during visa stamping. Your I94 upon entry will be issued based on your passport expiry date if you do not renew your passport before your travel back to US. Link to comment
MurthyIndia_Lawyer
Generally the non-immigrant visa will be issued in passport(s) that are valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in the United States. Indian Passport holders are exempted from this requirement however, the applicant(s) are required to hold passport(s) that are valid at least until the intended period of stay in the United States. We generally recommend applicant(s) to renew their passports before their visa application. Link to comment
