RFE on STEM Extension - Employment History

I received an RFE on my OPT STEM Extension asking for evidence of employment history. 

 

1) I had a offer letter when I initially applied my post-completion OPT. My I20 was updated for post-completion OPT but without employer details, as I have not started my job yet. This is in September 2015. After I started my job, I did not get it updated.

 

2) I changed my job to a volunteer work at my University in February 2015. I have updated my I20 to reflect this.

 

3) I got another job in May 2015 and my I20 was updated accordingly.

 

Although not mentioned on my RFE, I assume that I got the RFE because I did not update my I20 with my first employer.

 

I got letters from my employers confirming my employment. I will submit these letters to the USCIS along with my pay stubs for my first employer. The RFE did not ask for evidence of current employment and my second employment is an unpaid volunteer.

 

As I am providing the required evidence of my employment history, will my un-updated I20 for September 2014 - February 2015 period be of an issue?

My understanding is that being unpaid on OPT is considered equivalent to unemployment. Check with an attorney whether there is an update on this post.

Thanks for the information. I checked this post, it was an older post and I learnt that this issue happened in 2013/2014 and then the Nebraska USCIS did reconsider several applicants who were affected by it.
