Applying SSN after H4 EAD

Hi, my wife's H4 EAD was recently approved and now we are in the process of applying social security card for her.

 

There are two options for filing, mail or walk in. If I mail the documents, do I need to submit the copies of the supporting docs or the originals? I never applied through mail, so I don't know how to submit the documents.
