techgeek6
My wife was originally on F1 visa from a school in California and I reside in a different state. So she got her H4 stamped and moved with me. She got admitted to a public school here and completed a semester on H4, we earlier planned to apply for COS to F1. Now that my wife is visiting India, instead of applying COS to F1, 1. can she directly go to F1 stamping with her I-20 from the current school? 2. if she gets her visa stamped, will she automatically come under F1 visa? 3. if her F1 visa is rejected, can she comeback on H4 visa? Kindly advice, your help is greatly appreciated. Link to comment
livliv
1. Yes 2. When she enters the US using that Visa, her status will be F1 3. Yes. It is possible (depending on the consular officer's discretion) that her H4 Visa will also be canceled. If that happens she will have to apply for H4 Visa again. But that is less likely.
