itsmeha Posted June 26, 2015 Report Share Posted June 26, 2015 I have a GC and will be eligible for citizenship in Dec. Girl friend is a doctor, has a J1 waiver H1B. She is in a different state than I am, 1 year into 3 year waiver term working in an under-served area. Planning to get married soon. Is there any way (ANY WAY) she can transfer to my state or become a LPR and move to where I am? We don't want to stay in different states after marriage. Do I wait till I have my citizenship before getting married? Does it matter? She is not happy with her H1B employer. I guess the bad treatment for J1 waiver employees is well documented. Will this help when applying for a transfer? Any information is helpful. Thx! Link to comment
