Quick question to everyone, did the officer collect your passport photo? I don't remember them taking mine and a little worried about it. I don't want this to further delay the process, been waiting since June 10th.

Ya they took one passport size picture before i went to the fingerprint counter.I would suggest emailing the consulate and asking about.

VO officer don't check your photo , usually in Vancouver at the First counter they will verify the documents and they stick your passport size photo on the backside passport.

The photo will be taken during the OFC/VFC visit, not the during the visa interview. Isn't it?

Visa Systems Issues

The Bureau of Consular Affairs is in the process of resolving technical problems with our visa systems. Though some progress has been made, biometric data processing has not been fully restored.

Our team continues to work on this 24/7 to restore the systems to full functionality.

As of noon today, 22 posts have been reconnected, representing about half of the global nonimmigrant visa volume.

We will continue to bring additional posts online until connectivity with all posts is restored.

Last week, nearly 1,250 temporary or seasonal workers who had been issued visas in the past were issued new visas in Mexico, and we have issued more than 3,000 visas globally for urgent and humanitarian travel.

We deeply regret the inconvenience to travelers and recognize the hardship to those waiting for visas, and in some cases, their family members or employers in the United States.

We continue to post updates to our website.

Atleast half of the posts have been restored.

But when I filled DS-160 last week, there is no option to upload a photo, the last part said photo will be taken at VFC ONLY.

The NYT has an article about what happened (sorry, can't put the link here).

Apparently, they had a hardware failure, and the data on the backup system was corrupted.

"Ashley Garrigus, a spokeswoman for the Bureau of Consular Affairs, said that there had been a backup system in place, but that it had also failed.

“While switching to the backup system, we discovered that the data was damaged and unusable,” she wrote in an email."

Good morning guys recieved an email from loomis today at 1am.

Hi guys got my passport today. Once the waybill is generated just call loomis and ask if its ready to pickup there website doesn't update very often.
