bjz.ny
I am an LPR and will be applying for naturalization as early as July of this year. Married my husband a year ago (I was already a LPR) in the Philippines. He came back with me on a B2 visa. A year ago, we thought the F2A visas will be current and so I filed a petition for him, but the visas just didn't become current and we decided that he overstays. Recently, we received notice from NVC but with the advice of a lawyer, abandoned it because it would mean he is going home and we don't want to be apart anymore. My question is, when can we apply for his adjustment of status? How about the petition (since we abandoned the first time)? IS there any repercussion to the future petition because we abandoned the first? thank you for your opinion. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Once you become a Citizen you can file for his GC with the help of your Lawyer. Status violations are generally forgiven for the immediate relatives of US Citizens. Link to comment
