6 months old travel to India

Hello,

 

We receive the passport for the our new born and planning to travel to India next month. Apart from passport what all the documents we need for the baby? 

I heard we need OCI card.

 

Please let me know.

You can have a Visa/PIO/OCI. All three are acceptable. For OCI, please note that at least one of the parents needs to be a non-Indian citizen and the processing time is around 6 weeks. 

 

Visa is the fastest method. I am not sure how long PIO is taking.

 

When my daughter was 5 months old, we visited India with a Visa. No problems. Later we applied for PIO card.

You have an option to apply for OCI card or a visa.

You need PIO card from Indian consulate if you are not Green card holders.

OCI card is for green card holders and citizens.

OCI card is for green card holders and citizens.

No more PIO card. Only OCI according to Indian government's gazette notification on Jan 9th 2015.
