Change of job to a higher role 3 months after GC

Hi -

Need advise on the risks/possibility of changing my job to accept a higher role.

It has been only 3 months since I got my GC and I have this offer which is very good from a career perspective. The offer is for a manager role.

I have been with my current company for over 9 years and like working here but career growth is limited at present due to the location and the nature of my current job.

Please share your thoughts.

A higher role and more money is always a good reason to move over to a new job and that holds true for USC's and GC holders. Unless you are changing fields totally you should be fine. PLEASE discuss the matter with say the firm of Murthy for expert advise and then move on.

generally 6 mos is good enough to show intent and it is understood that you cannot be with same employer for ever.

Not a problem. The immigration law requires that the company has intent to employ you in the original capacity. Whether that intent is fulfilled and for how long is a different question.
