I'm forming this group for those of us going or planning on going to Canada for a F1 visa appointment. We can share experience, documents etc.

I'm going in 2 weeks for my F1 in Ottawa. I just started my OPT a few months ago.

I will post here once I have my document check list.

In the meanwhile, feel free to post if you have any questions or want to share experience.

Hi, We are looking for dates to get F1 Stamp at Vancouver but not getting any dates there ?

 

is there any preffered time when dates are opening ?

Hmm .. Good luck with it ... might need to change the location and go to Jamaica, If we decide to go there do we need to submit new DS 160 for jamaica consulate ?

Yes I believe you need a new DS160. It may be worthwhile calling the Jamaica consulate and asking them this.

Finally we got dates in Canada so no need to change now.

I am making my documents ready and below is my check list

Passport

latest i20 signed last month

bank account statements ( not sure if I should use sponsors or mine)

EAD cards

MS official transcript sealed

employment verification letter - I'm not sure what details go in here. But my employer has given me a letter with my start date and end date and salary.

All W2 for OPT

change of status approval

Previous visas/change of status documents

Proof of status in canada ( visit visa)

Resume - optional

last 3 months pay slip

Email from manager with approval for absence

Any thing you like to add here? What type of employment letter should we ttake? I'm little confused.
