I-485, G-325A - Mother's maiden name LNU

On G-325A need to fill mother's maiden name.

 

My mother's maiden name 'abc' was only in family and friend circle. There is no record of it. It is not on her educational document, passport or anywhere. All her old documents have only her first name written and no last name. After marriage, her current last name 'xyz' is mentioned on my birth certificate and her & my passports.

 

For G-325A mother's maiden name, should I fill in LNU (last name unknown) as advised by my lawyer or 'abc' which I cannot prove but only get an affidavit. Please advise.

Abc, of course. The reason they ask is to see if she's related to bin Ladens (well, you get the idea). It's NOT in your interest to lye needlessly.
